November 8, 2014 Ruth G. Arnold Hubbard, 92 passed away peacefully at her home on November 8, 2014. She was born and raised in Bluffton, Ohio but spent most of her life in Grand Rapids, Mi. Ruth was active as a den mother and girl scout leader while her children were in school and enjoyed involvement in PTA and her church. She worked many years in the retail dress business, retiring from Sarretts, where she was adored by co-workers and customers alike. After her retirement she delighted in traveling with friends and family and keeping busy with many different hand crafts including creating many beautiful pieces with her crochet needles. Always cheerful, her caring presence and loving heart made life sweeter for all those blessed to know her. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 26 years Albert E. Arnold in 1971, and again widowed in 1999 upon the death of H. Jack Hubbard to whom she was happily married for19 years. In addition, siblings LeVon Henry, Treva Beach and Raymond Lehman had passed away. She will be greatly missed by her children, Calvin (Sue) Arnold, Kay (Gary) Soentgen; Grandchildren; Shay Arnold, Angela Corlin, Jay Arnold, Shon (Lori) Arnold, Todd Smith and Rhea Smith and 4 great grandchildren, her sister-in-law Theda Lehman, many nieces and nephews as well as her stepchildren; John Hubbard, Carole Johnson, Lori Stewart and their families. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to Gentiva Hospice for the loving care given to Ruth and themselves during her final months. Services for Ruth will be Saturday, November 22 at Ofield Funeral home at 12:00 noon with the Reverend Jason Hubbard officiating. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
