Ruth Anne
Borek
December 10, 1929 – January 16, 2020
Ruth Anne (Edgerle) Borek went to be with our Lord on Thursday, January 16th, 2020. Ruth had recently celebrated her 90th birthday with many friends and family at her home at Vista Springs of Wyoming. Ruth was born to Thomas and Anna Edgerle on December 10th, 1929. Ruth was the youngest of three children. She attended St. Francis Xavier grade school in Grand Rapids and then continued on to Grand Rapids Catholic Central High School. Ruth was a proud graduate of the Class of 1947. Ruth was married to Joseph A. Borek for 56 years. Survived by their six children, Bob (Marty) Borek, Kathy (Chris) Choryan, Margaret (Tom) La Huis, Rick Borek, Mike Borek, Tina Borek (daughter-in-law), Scott Borek; 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and her sister Marie (Edgerle) Borek along with numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Joe in 2005, her beloved great-granddaughter Audrey Louise Jandernoa, her brother Tom Edgerle and brother-in-laws Bernie, George, Vic, and Gene Borek. She worked for many years as a teller at Old Kent Bank and loved her job working at Koeze's Nut House in Wyoming. Ruth was a devout Catholic all her life and it showed in her service at Holy Name of Jesus for 46 years and St. Mary Magdalen of 24 years. Her whole life she was a faith-filled servant to our Lord. Ruth's passion was her family. She loved watching her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren in numerous sports throughout the years. Her other interests were golf, bowling, square dancing, knitting, crocheting, sewing, card playing, the occasional casino trip and taking care of her family. Her loyalty was to her dear MSU Spartans. Go Green!
