Obituary

Ruby Caughn Smith of Grand Rapids, MI (formerly of Benton Harbor, MI) age 54, sunrise February 7th, 1968, sunset June 24th, 2022.

She was born to Rosetta Chears and Henry Jordan. Ruby Smith was one of eight children which includes
her identical twin sister (Roby Patterson Finley). Ruby was a 1986 graduate of Benton Harbor High School. Go Tigers! Ruby received an Associates and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Cornerstone University. Turn up! Ruby was married to Rudolph Smith. Ruby was known for infectious smile and loved to encourage people. Ruby loved her family near and far and was always focused on getting family closer together.

As a final act, Ruby has done it again by getting all of you together today. Well done, Ruby thy good and faithful servant! Ruby was known for her sweet kind and giving nature. She was a mom to many always so caring and protective willing to go the extra mile to help anyone. Ruby donated her time and finances to the community of Benton Harbor, MI. Ruby's impact was felt throughout her community in the following ways: she was an
award-winning cheerleading coach for the Calvin Britain Bulldogs, and she also coached a church cheerleading team-created by her and her identical twin sister. Ruby was also a drill team coach and a praise dancer with her twin sister called The Divine Sister's in Christ. Ruby worked in the hospitality industry for about 15 years. Ruby's most recent position was as a Guest Services Supervisor at the Double Tree by Hilton. Ruby wowed her guests with her exceptional customer service and bubbly personality!

Ruby is survived by her beloved husband of 13 years, Rudolph Smith; loving
children Dantia Windmon, Dantinequa Windmon, and Dante Windmon Jr., one
brother, Danny Patterson, 6 sisters, Carolyn Haines, Toni Caughn, Gwendolyn
Caughn, Michelle Patterson, Roby Patterson Finley, Necole Caughn, three
grandchildren, Da'zaria Windmon, Dazarion Windmon, King Asante Windmon,
and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Ruby is preceded in
death by her mother, Rosetta Chears, father, Henry Jordan, sister, Eugenia
Caughn, grandmother, Beatrice Nelson and her great grand mother and great
grandfather.

There will be a time of visitation from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday July 8th, 2022 at Resurrection Life Church, 5100 Ivanrest Ave SW Grandville, MI 49418. The funeral service for Ruby will be celebrated at 11:00am on Friday July 8th at Resurrection Life Church, 5100 Ivanrest Ave SW Grandville, MI 49418. Service Details. Visitation
