August 29, 1947 – January 1, 2025 - Ruby Elaine Owens, a devoted mother, grandmother, and caregiver, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025. Born in Kentucky on August 29, 1947, Ruby later made Michigan her home, where she raised her family with unwavering love and care.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents Bentley Spivey and Marie Mullins, her youngest daughter Christina Owens, and 8 brothers and sisters. Ruby leaves behind her eldest daughter, Angela Anderson; her middle daughter, Pamella Knapp; and her cherished granddaughters, Tanya Sullivan and Tasha Yeomans. She will be remembered as a nurturing soul who helped raise three strong and beautiful women and two wonderful granddaughters. Ruby's home was always filled with love—for her family, her beloved pets, and even the "grand dogs." She found joy in the simple things: snuggling with loved ones, savoring her Diet Coke, and watching her favorite shows like Law & Order. Her warmth, kindness, and quiet strength will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A private service will be held to celebrate Ruby's life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a local animal shelter or a charity of your choice in her honor.
