Only once in a lifetime do you meet a woman with the warmth of sunlight wrapped in her voice, a heartbeat as sweet as a Motown melody, and the sting of a bee in her words. For us, that unique collision of ideas arrived on January 29, 1947, when Ruby Lee was born to Rosie Bell (Fisher) and Henry Lee Thompson.

Raising her four children—Alan, Alisa, Brenda, and Robert—was her passion, and extending her love to their children, Breonna, Alan Jr., Robert Jr., and Antonio, brought her immense joy. Spending time with her great-grandchildren was the experience of a lifetime. She loved deeply and well, and her family will carry her memory in their hearts and actions for years to come

Ruby was selfless, always sacrificing and looking out for the well-being of everyone she cared about. If she had two nickels, and you needed one, it was yours. And while she might have had a few things to say about you, complaining over what she gave up for others was never one of them. Ruby modeled love and loyalty in everything she did. Her deep love and loyalty will be cherished forever.

Now rejoicing with her in heaven are her mother and father; brothers James, Joe, and Bill; sister Linda; and all of her aunts and uncles. She leaves behind her imprint on those who will cherish her memory: Alan Thompson, Alisa and Keith Maddox, Brenda Cox, Robert and Kim Cox, Breonna and Daryle Rostic, Antonio Ewing, Robert Jr, and Alan Thompson Jr; along with nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
