January 30, 2014 Roy M. Sprunger age 59 of Nashville, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 3, 2014. In his words, "after all, I have accomplished my life goals; I lived longer than my father, I lived to see my mother put to rest, I was reunited with my daughter, I saw my daughter married and lastly, I got to see my first grandchild." Roy proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and has been employed at the Federal Center in Battle Creek for over 38 years. His genealogy research was never ending and he was looking forward to this research to carry him through retirement for years to come, God willing. He was a charter member of the (MOC) Michigan Open Carry, Inc. organization since 2010. Roy is survived by his daughter, Kris (Buddy) Dickerhoof and grandchild, Rachel Dickerhoof; brothers Henry (Karen) Sprunger, Lloyd (Heather) Sprunger; sisters Beverly (Ken "Jr") Scott, Judy Sprunger; numerous nieces, nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. Interment Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta at 2pm Friday, March 28, 2014. Relatives and friends may meet the family from 3-5 at the VFW Post 7956 at 13540 W. Dickman Rd (M-96). In honor of Roy and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Michigan OpenCarry.org or a charity of your choice.
