March 25, 2011 Service: March 31, 2011 Rosemary Angela Wood, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Friday, March 25, 2011 at St. Ann's Home in Grand Rapids. Born in Newark, New Jersey to Edward Raymond and Rosemary Dempsey O'Keeffe. She was the oldest of seven children. Rosemary graduated from Belding High School in 1942 and received a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Aquinas College. She married her loving husband William Paul Wood in 1946 and they had five children, raising them in a home full of love and laughter in South Haven, MI. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Basil's Catholic Church. Rosemary and Bill's home was always open and welcoming to their family and friends. She was a dedicated school teacher in Covert, MI for fifteen years. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Mary Ann; her parents and her husband. She is survived by her children, Susan and Walter Marston, Stephen and Susan Wood, Bill Wood Jr., Ed and Julia Wood; grandchildren, Katie, Laura and John Marston, Claire and David Wood; brothers and sisters, Dorothy Makley, Eileen O'Keeffe, Jerome and Marcia O'Keeffe, Edward O'Keeffe, Harold and Juanita O'Keeffe, John and Nancy O'Keeffe; many loving nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held10:30 a.m., Thursday March 31, at St. Ann's Home, 2161 Leonard St. NW with Father Dennis O'Keeffe, Celebrant. The family will meet with friends at Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Ave. SW, Wednesday, March 30 from 6 - 8 p.m., with prayers at 7:30 and one half hour before the Mass at St. Ann's. Interment Lakeview Cemetery in South Haven. Donation can be made in Rosemary's name to St. Ann's Home.
