IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Roseline Catherine
Babcock
May 8, 1933 – December 10, 2018
Roseline Catherine (Schrauben) Babcock born May 8, 1933, has passed away from Congestive Heart Failure. Rosie was born in Westphalia, Michigan to Charles and Regina Schrauben. She was the youngest girl among twelve siblings and the only one of her family to graduate from Westphalia Catholic High School. Her love of sports of all kinds, especially basketball came from her participation as a guard. After graduation she moved to Lansing and met Kendle Babcock, and later married in 1953. While Kendle served in the Army, Rosie moved to Grand Rapids with her sister Peg and her husband Rex. After his discharge Ken & Rosie settled in Wyoming, Michigan, and had a daughter, Pennie Sue. Rosie and Ken traveled Europe, the western U.S., and loved Gulf Shores, Alabama. The Babcocks and Rex & Peg invested in a Grand Haven cottage, (Pair O' Dice), and later bought "Harold's" from the ladies' younger brother Harold. Rosie and Peg were fixtures at the store known to many. Ken and Rosie loved the new house they bought in Wyoming. Life was good. Then, following a road trip Ken died suddenly and Rosie was on her own. She was proud of the fact that she was able to take care of herself for the remaining twenty two years without Ken. Rosie volunteered with Meals on Wheels, frequented the casinos wither friend Annette, played cards, and dearly loved her little dog Dazee. She was a sweet person, a competitive card player, sports enthusiast, and a wicked cook! She leaves behind two sisters, Evelyn Kent and Peg Gregg, daughter Pennie, son-in-law Mark, grandsons Charles (Ashley) Lewis, William (Tricia)Lewis, and four great-grand children: Breanna, Liam, Alex, and Henry Kendle. She will be missed.
