Obituary

Roger Henry Meyer (July 2, 1935-Feb 28, 2016) passed away in Grand Rapids, Michigan in his home. He was born in Brooklyn, New York to Lillian and John Meyer. Roger was an electrical engineer and a 25-year veteran of the United States Air Force, where he flew combat missions as a navigator during the Vietnam War. After he retired from active duty and from engineering, he became a well-known writer of WWII, outdoor activities, and several other areas of interest. He is survived by his wife, Glory, and his second son, Craig, as well as a sister, Elaine, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends--all of whom he loved in his own special way. He follows in passing his first son, Scott, who we lost in 2014. Services will be held on March 18, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 1025 3 Mile Rd. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505 followed by a reception. Visitation will take place on March 17th from 7-8 PM and one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Roger's honor, to the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans, 3000 Monroe Ave. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505.
