IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Roger James
Alflen
November 2, 1928 – February 12, 2020
Roger Alflen, age 91, died peacefully in his sleep Wednesday, February 12, 2020, and is now reunited with his wife Joan and son Randy. He leaves behind his children Laurie and Ron Tloczynski, Nancy and Dennis Carlson; grandchildren Kurtis (Jackie) and Kyle Carlson; and great-grandson Owen. Also surviving are his sister Pat Hansen; brothers Dick and Gerald (Marlene) Alflen; sisters-in-law Betty Brown, Fran Littell, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Roger served his country as a Marine; was active in his church; volunteered at God's Kitchen, and retired as a Vice President from Merrill Lynch. Roger had a great sense of humor and loved playing practical jokes. Some of his passions included golf, reading, wine-making, and refinishing furniture. He loved to dance and enjoyed any kind of music as long as it made his toe tap. He was an all-around great man who will be missed by all who knew him. The family would like to thank the caregivers from Your Life for treating Dad with respect and making him smile in his final years. A memorial visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Avenue SE, Kentwood, MI 49508.
