Obituary

Rodger Ludwig Schwemer
Oct. 29, 1966 to Nov. 18, 2021

Rodger, beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather passed away, unexpectedly, in Kalamazoo MI.

Rodger was born October 29, 1966, to Richard H., and Betty F. (Krontz) Schwemer, in Barstow CA.; he was the youngest of five children. Rodger attended Sturgis High School, where he was on the wrestling team. Rodger was a career welder for more than 30 years and was respected in his trade.

Long lost friends of 28 years, Rodger was led back to his soulmate, Dawn M. Dunham, in 2011. On Sept. 16, 2016, Rodger married Dawn, whom he is survived by. Together, they traveled the US in their RV, with a pup named Teddy. Eventually, Rodger and Dawn settled in Three Rivers, Michigan, in 2019.

Rodger was a "Jack of all trades," and "MASTER OF MUCH." From working on cars, to bouncing at bars. From welding steel, to helping his babies heal. From teaching them what's right, to helping his babies fight. Family was everything to Rodger; He could bounce a baby on his knee, comfort a broken heart, and give great fatherly advice, sometimes without even being asked. Rodgers favorite past time was taking good care of his family and friends. Rodger enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and just communing with nature. Over the last few years, Rodger became more interested in politics, and other current events; he could argue with the best and love them just the same.

Rodger was preceded in death by; his father Richard, mother Betty, two brothers (Douglas R. and Richard A. Schwemer) a sister, (Katrina A. Campbell), and a granddaughter, (Edith E. Estrada.)

Rodgers is survived by his sister, Yvonne (Tim) Martin, brother in law, Bruce Campbell, and many nieces, and nephews that he loved, dearly. The children that survive Rodger, he loved as his own; Mindy Czekala, Joe Mansfield, Dianne M Hires-Schwemer, Heather M. (Brett) Staecker, Michael P. (Alina) Parish, Shannon A. Brown, Casie L. (David) Bender, as well as, 19 grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren.

Rodger continued to give of himself, when he became an organ donor to "The Gift of Life."

According to Rodgers wishes, cremation has taken place, and a "Celebration of Life" will be held at a later date which is yet to be determined. Service Details.
