Obituary

Robert Franklin "Bob" Sims, 63, passed away on June 27, 2024, in Allegan, MI. Born on September 22, 1960, in Holland, MI, Bob was the beloved son of the late Mary Eve Sims-Rewa and William Sims. His brother Bill Sims also preceded him in death.

Bob served briefly in the Army, an experience that was meaningful to him. He spent 12 fruitful years working for Grissen Siding, dedicating himself to his role with commitment and diligence.

A man of deep faith, Bob was an active member of the Douglas Community Church. His life was a reflection of his beliefs, showing immense love for his family, friends, and the Lord. Bob's kindness and ability to see the good in everyone were his defining traits. He found joy in the simplicity of nature, whether it was hunting, foraging for mushrooms, or collecting rocks. His hobbies also included deer hunting, playing cards, board games, and watching westerns.

Bob's memory will be cherished by his children, Paul Sims (Nicole), Nichole Ayers (Don), Tim Sims (Amanda), Nathon Sims, and John Sims, as well as his stepchildren, Dennis, Lisa, and Holly. He also leaves behind his brother, Charles, sister, Beverly, and many grandchildren who will miss him dearly.

A service to celebrate Bob's life will be held at Douglas Community Church on Saturday, July 6th, with visitation beginning at 10 am followed by the service at 11 am. Bob's legacy of kindness and his devout faith will forever be remembered by all who knew him. If anyone  would like to make a contribution to the Community Church of Douglas at the time of service in lieu of flowers it would be appreciated.
