IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Lee
Jester
May 29, 1949 – February 27, 2021
On Saturday February 27, 2021 God reached out his loving hand to Robert (Bob) Jester and asked him to come home to heaven.
Son to Norman & Barbara, Bob was born in the beautiful lakeside city of Grand Haven.
This founded his love for the water from birth, whether it be a lake, ocean or river, you would always find him at home on the water.
Bob also served his country proudly in the United States Air Force, serving time overseas in both Korea, Germany and Holland. Along this journey he built some lifelong friendships with some amazing soldiers and has been fondly referred to as "Jess" even to this day.
He held a long standing 28 year career with Monarch Hydraulics in Grand Rapids Michigan, as a welder. Until moving to Arizona in the early 2000's and taking a job as a security guard at a retirement community.
As the years continued on, Bob's faith in the Lord grew and grew. He became very at home in the church, attending Bible studies and classes, starting a children's youth ministry called Y.C.R (Young Christian Riders) which the entire family joined. He would hold fun, faith filled social gatherings at home with other members of the church, bringing the love of God to everyone. Creating everlasting friendships in Christ with many people both in Michigan and Arizona.
His gatherings always consisted of another one of his passions, cooking. Bob was an excellent cook. He loved cooking for his family and friends. He truly could make the most amazing meals and it definitely gave him so much joy to be able to share his gift with others. His dream was to one day, open a little restaurant of his own.
He loved his family immensely, they were truly his greatest treasure. From the fond memories growing up as the oldest of 6 siblings, to visiting his favorite Aunt's, fishing and clamming with family in Chincoteague, to raising his two wonderful daughters and watching them grow, to extending his family with his second marriage, adding 3 wonderful step children and devoting his life to his wife.
And as the years continued his family was blessed with many grandchildren, which he absolutely adored more than anything in the world. He was the best son, brother, father, husband, grandpa and friend.
Bob brought a shining light to everyone around him. Bob was a giving and caring man, he remained positive through each and every obstacle, he stayed strong and steadfast in his faith and he loved with all his heart. We know that he sings and is dancing praises in his heavenly home.
Bob was greeted in Heaven by his son Justin Jester, his parents Norman & Barbara Jester, brothers Hal & Doug Jester. He is survived by his loving daughters Valerie (Jerry) Russell, Michelle (Galen) Green. Grandchildren, Lexus, Lauren & Jake Russell, Brittanie Cook & Hunter Green. Sisters, Becki (Rick) Jester, Pam (Jim) Young, Brenda (Craig) Spayde. Sisters in law Julia Jester & Patty Jester. Nieces and Nephews, Marie, Susan, Alexandria, Trisha, Abbey, Madelyn, Matt, Kyle, Austin, Ian and Jonathon. Step Children, Jodi (Chris) Bast and family, Jennifer (Bill) Loveless and family & Jeremy (Kara) Wilterink and family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 5th, 2021 at the home of Michelle & Galen Green.
A remembrance service will be given by Bob's dear friend Jim Comden.
We hope that you can come and celebrate the wonderful life of Bob, enjoy faith, fellowship and his favorite foods.
