On Wed., Nov 13, 2024, Robert James DeKraker Jr. passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, in his Kentwood, Michigan home. Rob was born the youngest of five children on January 25,1959, in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Evelyn (Penny) & Robert J DeKraker Sr. His siblings include Donald James DeKraker (wife Carlynn), David Allen DeKraker, Susan Kay Zamparripa (husband Lonnie) and Cher DeKraker. Rob is also survived by his children: Kim DeKraker (children: Haley, Ethan, & Blaze); Karla Maleport (husband Troy; children: Raelyn, Brielle, & Charlee); Jeffrey Tuinei (wife Angela; children: Kennedy & Zoey); and Jasmine Beavin

He was married to Janet (Lakey) Tuinei for 19 wonderful years where they spent time traveling and gambling, which was one of his favorite things to do. Bowling and golfing with his childhood friends of 35 years was also a favorite past time. Rob was highly respected at work, always willing to help others and was amazed at how many coworkers he called friends. He was a good man to everyone he encountered.

He will be truly missed.

The family would like to thank Trinity Health Lacks Center and Hospice of Michigan for their care and compassion during Rob's illness.

There will be a time of Visitation from 10:00 until 11:00 am on Saturday, Nov 23, 2024, at Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Kentwood, MI 49508. The Funeral service for Rob will follow the Visitation at the same location. Luncheon will also be provided.
