Robert Lewis Bradshaw, age 94.5, passed away at Brookdale Nursing Home in Kalamazoo, MI on November 19, 2024 after a brief illness.
He attended several county schools throughout Michigan. He attended Allegan High School, he also lived in numerous homes throughout Michigan and Florida.
He married Joyce Dam in 1949 and they were married for 64 years before Joyce's death in 2013.They raised 3 children in various counties of Michigan.
Robert worked for 10 years at Rockwell International. He then worked for 20 years selling Kirby vacuum cleaners. In 1980 Robert retired and moved to Florida, later working another 10 years for Charlotte County Schools.
He and his wife loved to travel. Three of their larger trips were Greece, Turkey, and Hawaii.
The Bradshaw family was a camping family, from infant children to adulthood, from tents to 29 foot travel trailers. During their retired years, Robert and Joyce loved their camping at Oak Shores Campground. From golf cart rides around the park to the annual golf cart races that were held, or just sitting watching the wildlife, or the bingo nights he enjoyed.
Robert loved his yard and took meticulous care of it.
He is survived by his sons Gary (Deb) Bradshaw and Mark (Rhonda) Bradshaw, his daughter Julie (Mike) Pressley, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and a dear special family friend, Honey Handy.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Ethel Bradshaw, an infant son Stephen Bradshaw, his wife Joyce of 64 years, his brothers Orrin, Norman, Gerald, and Charles.
In accordance to Robert's wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will take place at a later time.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Brookdale Assisted Living and Centrica of Hospice for all of their support and care.
