Robert Wesley Bossemeyer, Sr. (Bob) 95 of Grand Rapids, Michigan passed away on
Thursday, July 7 at his home in Holland Homes Breton Woods.

Bob was born in Detroit, Michigan to William and Bernice Bossemeyer on July 13, 1926. He
earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering at The University of Michigan
following his service in the Navy during WWII, and a Master's Degree in Business from
Western Michigan University. He worked almost 40 years at Lear, Inc. (later Smith's
Industries) in Grand Rapids and a few years at Toledo Scale Company in Toledo, Ohio. He
enjoyed golf and bowling with the company leagues and coaching his son in baseball and
helping his daughter practice her baton twirling. He served as a volunteer in several
organizations including YMCA Indian Guides, youth baseball, Plymouth United Church of
Christ (Sunday School Teacher/Superintendent), Boy Scouts, Junior Achievement, Gleaners
Community Foodbank, and as a driver at Holland Homes.

Bob is survived by his son Robert Wesley Bossemeyer, Jr. (Sharon), daughter JoEllen Ross
(Tom), grandchildren Matt, Andy, Kendra, and Kari, and great-grandchildren William,
Theodore, and Madeleine with whom he spent many happy hours. He was preceded in death
by his wife Ethel to whom he was devoted and missed dearly, and brothers William and Neal
Bossemeyer.

A memorial service will be held at Ofield Funeral Home on Saturday, July 16 at 11 AM
preceded by visitation at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, Kentwood Michigan
for immediate family only. A reception will be held that day at Holland Homes Breton Terrace
at 2 PM. Visitation will be at Ofield Funeral Home on Friday, July 15 between 5 and 7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holland Homes Resident Assistance
Fund at 2100 Raybrook St. SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49546, or to another charity of your choice in Bob's name.
