Robert Nelson Kirk, known to family and friends as Bob, was born on December 3, 1943, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He passed away peacefully on September 30, 2026, at the age of 82.

Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandra Kirk; his parents, Ada and Clyde Kirk; his grandson, Cody Kirk; and six of his seven siblings: Sis, Pauline, Clyde “Butch,” Katie, Carol, and Sharon.

He is survived by his three children, Robert Kirk and his wife, Jennifer; Brian Kirk; and Holly Kirk. He also leaves behind five surviving grandchildren: Aaron Kirk, Adam Kirk, Dustin Kirk, Jack Coeur-Fuller, and Alicia Fuller; a great-grandson, Parker; and his sister, Nancy.

Bob dedicated 45 years of his working life to The James River Corporation in Kalamazoo before retiring. His years of hard work reflected his dedication and commitment to providing for his family.

Family was Bob’s greatest joy and treasured their company. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. He was also a lifelong Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions fan. He spent many vacations trying to see all the baseball stadiums for his bucket list.

Throughout his life, Bob built a legacy of family, hard work, and cherished memories. He will be remembered for the love he had for his family, the connections he maintained throughout his life, and the memories he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed.

Memorial service arrangements will be announced by the family at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Bob’s memory.
