Robert Carl Beitner, 76, of Grand Rapids Michigan, passed away on Monday
July 27th, 2020. Robert was born on September 5th, 1943, in Grand Rapids Michigan to Carlton
Beitner and Gertrude Zdroj-Beitner. Robert was married to Laurain Calabrese-Beitner and they
had two children, Carl Beitner and Marie Beitner-Strickland.

Robert attended Saint Isadores and Catholic Central. He retired in 2002 from 35 years of driving
a semi-truck for Gordon's Food Service. Robert enjoyed golfing, fishing with his son and
grandsons, and hunting with friends and family. He was a member of Saint Stanislaus Aid
Society (The Little Hall) for many years where he enjoyed the fellowship of his childhood friends
(and a few good drinks). He had a sharp wit and an easy going personality, making friends
wherever he went.

Survived by his wife Laurain Beitner (of 55 years), their children Carl Beitner (Carrie Bunting) of
Ionia and Marie Beitner-Strickland of Grand Rapids, his former daughter-in-law Veronica
Cardenas-Beitner of Elk Rapids, his grandchildren Roberto Beitner of Chicago, Vinny Beitner
of Elk Rapids, Olivia Strickland of Grand Rapids, and Michael Strickland of Grand Rapids, and
his sister Judy Beitner-Eaton of Grand Rapids, along with many nieces and nephews, cousins,
and friends.

Predeceased by his father, Carlton Beitner, mother Gertrude Zdroj-Beitner, sisters Marcia
Beitner-Hudson and Nancy Beitner-Ryan, and father-in-law Antonio Calabrese and
mother-in-law Adeline Smiraglia-Calabrese.
