The family of Rico dela Fuente Fajardo is deeply saddened to announce his unexpected passing on September 25, 2026. Born on November 3, 1964 in Manila Philippines. He and our parents became naturalized US citizens in 1968. Rico lived a life filled with laughter, love and sports. He was well known and loved for his sense of humor and sarcasm, as well as his devotion to the Minnesota Vikings. 

 He was proceeded in death by his father Dr. Rolando M. Fajardo MD., his mother Dr. Amelia Fajardo MD. OB. GYN. and youngest brother Roland F. Fajardo. He will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Gregory Aaron Nelson (wife Sabrena), Rico dela Fuente Fajardo Jr. (fiancé Lauren Ferrara), Cody Michael Fajardo, his grandchildren Arya and Cameron Nelson, his brother Romel Fajardo (Heather Dostal), his sister Ruthie Fajardo (Eddie Flemming) his niece Amelia "Boo" Flemming, his nephews Rolando "Yari" Flemming, Ethan Fajardo, Tristan Fajardo and great nephew Rolando "Rolly" Flemming, and so many more extended family and even greater amount of dear friends. 

A celebration of Rico's life will be held on Saturday Oct. 3, at the Waterfront Restaurant 5713 Beech Ave. Coloma MI starting at 2:00pm, remembrances from family and friends 2;30-3:30 with food/buffet provided starting at 4-6pm. From 6pm we will be moving the celebration to Rico's favorite place to hang out with his friends at Chiefs Bar 4790 Territorial RD Benton Harbor MI. The family invites all his friends to both venues if possible.

In lieu of flowers his immediate family will be accepting donations at both locations on the day of the event to help with costs. Or venmo donations to @cody188.
