Richard Paul (Dick) Mueser passed away in Grand Rapids, MI, on June 23, 2020. He was 79 years old. He was born on October 5, 1940, in Chicago, IL. He was currently living in Grand Haven, MI, where he moved after his stroke in 2016 from Picacho, Arizona.

Dick moved to Madison, WI, in his teens. As a sophomore in high school, he went to Madison East and became a member of the Class of 1958. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1958 thru 1961, stationed in the jungles of the Philippines, where he learned Morse code and translated enemy submarine messages. His employment after service related to transportation, where he sold truck transportation for International Transport and several other trucking organizations in the United States.

Dick married his good friend from high school, Lynn Johnson, on New Years Eve 1988, and they began 31-1/2 of the happiest years of both their lives. Lynn and her family, Todd and Gayle Herrick and their son Benjamin, all of Grand Haven, and David Herrick and his wife Marla, of Goddard, Kansas, survive. He is also survived by his two daughters, Mona (Dan) Bissonette of Gig Harbor, Washington, and Mia Collins of Bath, Maine. He is also also survived by his brother-in-law, Anton Jensen, Sr. of Virginia and nephew, Tony Jensen (Janice) of Georgia, two nieces, Andrea Jensen of Virginia and Theresa Jensen of Wisconsin, and great nieces Kelly McElhenny and Caroline McElhenny, both of Virginia, and Ayla Jensen of Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Karen Mueser and Paulette Jensen.

Services will be held in Madison at Roselawn Cemetery after the Covid crisis ends. Notices will be made in advance of the time services can be arranged.
