Richard L (Dick) Gromko, age 81, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2019. Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine and his parents Harry and Helen. He is survived by his son, Michael (Liz), his daughter, Karol and good friend Willie; grandchildren, Michael II (Stefanie), Chad (girlfriend Melissa) and Tristan; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Skylar, Gavin and Michael III; sister, Joyce; niece and nephew Diana and Chad; and special friend, Pat. Dick served our country in the US Navy. He was an avid fisherman and a life-long member of the GR Steelheaders. He also loved hunting, fishing, traveling and was a District 9 baseball umpire for 40 years. Visitation for Dick will be held on Monday, March 18 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Ofield Funeral Home (4500 Kalamazoo Ave. in Kentwood, Michigan). A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, March 19 at 11:00 AM at Ofield Funeral Home. A luncheon will follow at DW Cassard Post 208 (133 44th St. SE, Kentwood, MI 49548) In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the GR Steelheaders Foundation.
