June 16, 2013 Service: June 20, 2013 Richard A. Richter, age 64, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013. He was the youngest son of Leon and Angeline Richter. Surviving is his wife Judith; siblings, Roger Richter and children Debra, Jeff, Teresa, Ronald (Kathleen) Richter and children Brian, Mark, Christine; many great-nieces and nephews, Aunt Lorrane "Dolly" Sremba, Aunt Irene "Topsy" Richter, Uncle Albert Richter as well as many cousins. Mr. Richter very proudly served his country as a Corporal in the Marine Corps in the 11th Marines Radio Section from 1966-1972 and still saw his brothers that he served with in Vietnam. He enjoyed riding his Gold Wing Motorcycle, wood working and was an avid member at South Kent Sports Club. Mr. Richter was a member of Disabled American Veterans, Kent Community Church and a life member at NRA. He loved to travel, listen to music (especially christian and country), and was an avid camper. Richard retired from Steelcase after 38 years of service. Mr. Richter loved his family dearly. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 20 at 11:00am at the Ofield Funeral Home. The family will meet with relatives and friends Wednesday 1-3 and 6-8pm at the funeral home.
