Ricardo Alberto
Hernandez
October 15, 1954 – December 2, 2017
Ricardo Alberto Hernandez, age 63, passed away at home December 2, 2017 with his family at his side. He now rests in the palm of the Lord. Ricardo was born in Villavicencio, Colombia to Carlos and Elisa Hernandez. He was raised in Colombia and attended college in Barcelona, Spain. He then came to Grand Rapids where he met and married his wife Michele and spent the rest of his life. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, Carlos and Elisa Hernandez. He leaves behind his wife Michele and son Christopher Hernandez. He is also survived by his large and loving family including brothers and sisters; Carlos Hernandez, Jesus Antonio Hernandez, Clemencia Hernandez Forero, Claudia Hernandez Diaz and many very special nieces and nephews who were always close to his heart. He also leaves behind good friends who will miss him dearly. Ricardo was an adventurer who always tried to live life to the fullest and on his own terms right until the end, a true independent and indomitable spirt. He always left a mark on the lives of others he met. He loved to travel and experience new places but most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends at home. In keeping with his wishes cremation will take place. A celebration of life is being planned. As Ricardo died after a long fight with pancreatic cancer, in lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to The V Foundation for Cancer Research: http://jimmyv.convio.net/site/PageNavigator/2017Vweek_jimmyv.html
