March 14, 2011 Ray H. Mead, aged 73, of Wyoming, went home to his Lord after a courageous battle with multiple illnesses, at his home with his family by his side on Monday, March 14, 2011. Besides being a dedicated husband, father and grandfather, Ray was a hard-working man serving our country in the military early in his life, until ending his career at Owens Corning Fiberglas. He enjoyed talking about his life stories to all and it is something we will always remember. He was a member of the Moose Lodge 406 as well as the American Legion Post 532. Ray is survived by his loving wife of over 47 years, Joyce; his children, Patti (fiancé Rick Smalley) Mead, Ronnie (Sandy) Mead, Helynn (Robert) Hansen; grandchildren, Rose (David) Zaiger, Lani (Raymond) Lowing, Candi Mead, Lindsay Banfill, Corey Hansen, Alex (Hillary Deyoung) Hansen; great grandchildren, Nicholas, Matthew, Kyla, Remington; sisters-in-laws, Chris Mead, Gloria Gerard, Charlene Leach; brothers-in-laws, Marvin (Delores) Haight, Bill (Betty) Haight, Roger (Betty) Haight; as well as MANY dear nieces, nephews and special friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 17 at 11:00 a.m. at Ofield Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Bergsma officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9.
