A good & faithful servant has now gone to heaven. Ralph Edson Ludwick of Rockford, Michigan was born on June 22, 1930 and passed away on April 28, 2022. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva (Schuiling) with whom he shared 70 wonderful years together before she passed on June 27, 2021. Ralph is survived by his three children: daughter, Brenda (Mike) Warne, son, Blake (Cindy) Ludwick and daughter, Bethany (Michael) Fisher, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, his sister, Lois Vredevelt, brother-in-law, Norman (Terry) Schuiling and friends.

On September 22, 1950 he married Eva (Schuiling) and shortly after went to serve in the US Army (non-combat). After being discharged, Ralph felt called to become a minister and attended Western Theological Seminary. Upon graduating, he pastored churches in New Berlin, WI., Forreston, IL., Sarasota, FL., Wyoming, MI., and Grand Rapids, Michigan. In his later years, Ralph became a chaplain and was the first Protestant chaplain in the ICU and Emergency Departments of St. Mary's Hospital where he worked for 13 years before retiring. Ralph never had an enemy and loved everyone he met. His quick humor, zest for life, kindness and gentleness will always be remembered and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

There will be a remembrance open house from 1:30-3:30 pm on May 22, 2022 at Fifth Reformed Church, 2012 Griggs, SE, Grand Rapids 49506.
