Obituary

Phyllis Joan Williams, age 90, went to be with her Lord September 24, 2018 in her home at Rest Haven Maplewoods in Holland, Michigan. Phyllis was born in Holland to Sander and Hattie Lankheet. She shared her youth with 4 brothers and sisters; Millicent, Roger, Sidney and Sharon. She married Rodger Jay Lemmen and Harry Williams and raised 3 children; Ron Lemmen, Pat Ade, and Kim Lemmen-Braat. She enjoyed 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Phyllis attended Holland Christian Schools and Grand Rapids Community College. She worked as a teacher and a medical administrator and volunteered her time and talents to many non-profit entities. Phyllis had a passion for music and gifted her beautiful voice to school choirs, the Grand Rapids Symphonic Choir and many church choirs. She was a fun-loving person always ready for a day at Lake Michigan or the ocean. She felt gratitude for the wonders of God's creation. She was a prolific journaler and was quick to send kind and thoughtful notes to family and friends. She was an avid learner and when asked if she had sage advice to pass on to others, she answered "remain teachable!" Her relationship with and her faith in God was her priority. She was most recently a member of Trinity Reformed Church in Holland and enjoyed the chance to contribute to the prayer group. There will be a Memorial Service at Trinity Reformed Church (712 Apple Ave, Holland, MI) on Saturday October 13, 2018 at 11 am. No flowers please. Donations to Trinity Reformed Church in her honor are appreciated.
