Phyllis G. Singrey, 88, of Kalamazoo, MI, went home to Jesus on Monday morning, March 30, 2020. To those that knew her, she was always known as "Jeri". Jeri was born on April 14, 1931 in Fraser, MI to her loving parents, the late George and Leora Behrens. Jeri spent most of her life growing up in Kalamazoo with her five siblings and always considered it her home. She graduated from Kalamazoo Central H.S. In 1950 earning her diploma as well as accolades for her abilities in Art. After high school Jeri was employed at the Upjohn Company working on production lines until she married. She was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart Donald Singrey on March 15, 1952. Jeri loved gardening, reading, history and arts and crafts. She was quite an artist and loved to paint and work with clay. Jeri loved her family most of all. She took great pride in her husband and children and in the home she kept for them. She adored her many grandchildren and great grandchildren, showering them with love at every opportunity. Jeri also enjoyed the times that all her siblings and their families would gather together. They would sing songs, laugh and tell the stories of their youth. She was always so happy to be with her "Behrens Pack". Jeri is survived by her faithful husband of 68 years, Donald Singrey, her loving children Donald Singrey Jr, Tami (Tom) Spitzner and Robin (Richard) DeMink, her dear sister Betty Pangburn and her many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jeri was preceded in death by her loving daughter Jama Fox, sisters Darlene Lofts and Marjorie Carter, brothers Lloyd "Mick" Behrens and Don Behrens and her parents George and Leora Behrens. Jeri has been cremated and her ashes will be interred at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date due to the Corona Virus pandemic. Those wishing to offer an expression of sympathy are encouraged to make a memorial contribution to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause dear to Jeri's heart.
