Phyllis Ann Masalkowski, age 81, of Wyoming, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022.
She was born on September 10, 1940 in Grand Rapids, to Herbert and Angeline (Novakoski) Masalkowski. As a young girl, she attended Saint Alphonsus School. Phyllis then graduated from Catholic Central High School. She moved to Texas in the 1960's, where she worked for many years as an administrative assistant for the News Texas Suburban Newspaper in Arlington. At one time, she owned her own bakery, Pamm's European Bakery in Colleyville, TX. Before she retired, she worked for the federal government as an SBA loan officer.
Phyllis loved to travel. She went to Europe several times throughout her life, and had been to all of the fifty states. She enjoyed trips to Puerto Vallarta and summers spent in Benzonia on the Betsie River. She also enjoyed playing cards with her friends. While living in Texas, Phyllis also spent time attending and volunteering for Saint Michael's Church in Bedford.
Phyllis is survived by her nieces: Patricia (Ed) Kryda and Kelly (David) Zeeb; great nieces: Teagen and Lilian Kryda; and brother-in-law, Tom Griffin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Angeline, as well as her sister, Mary Griffin.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 20, 2022, at Saint Alphonsus Church, 224 Carrier St NE, Grand Rapids. A visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Service Details. Visitation
