Phyllis Garrow, a cherished member of the Seventh-day Adventist community and a talented organist, pianist, and singer, passed away peacefully in Grand Haven on 03/31/2024 after a two-year battle with cancer.

Phyllis was born on 4/13/1945 in Holland, MI, to Howard and Claribel Dorgelo. She dedicated her life to her faith and served as an organist and pianist at Grand Haven Seventh-day Adventist Church for 50 years. Her music touched the hearts of many and will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of hearing her play. In addition to her musical contributions, Phyllis was known for her kindness, compassion, and unwavering faith. She touched the lives of countless individuals through her generosity and acts of service.

Phyllis is survived by her spouse of 57 years, Andy Garrow, and her sister, Nancy Hill. Her daughter Lelaine Gates and husband Ron Gates, as well as their children Justin and Braden, Their son Bill Garrow and his wife Lisandra Garrow, and Bill's children Morgan, Evan, Colin, and Lisandra's children Quinlan and Solana Kelly. Her surviving brother-in-law, Kenneth DePas, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Claribel Dorgelo, and her sister, Donna DePas. Her family, friends, and everyone who knew her will miss her dearly.

A memorial service to celebrate Phyllis's life will be held at Grand Haven Seventh-day Adventist Church at 15051 177th Ave. Grand Haven, MI 49417 on April 14th, 2024, with visitation beginning at 10 am and memorial service to follow at 11 am with a luncheon provided. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grand Haven Seventh-day Adventist Community Center located at 432 S. Beechtree St, Grand Haven, MI 49417.
