Phil Di Cesare of Byron Center, Michigan, went to be with his Heavenly Father on his 85th birthday, July 24, 2021. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family.

Phil was born to Ertibio and Maria Di Cesare in Detroit, Michigan and later moved to West Michigan to open Maria's Pizzeria and ended his working years as a master electrician at Steelcase.

Phil proudly served his flag and country in the United States Army during the Korean War, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 4362, and served as a SK 4th Degree Honor Guard of Assembly 2210 where he was a past Faithful Navigator.

Phil enjoyed many of his retirement years at their cottage on Big Star Lake. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Phil is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Delphine; children, Phil (Debi), Ray, Mario (Amy), Dino, Gino (Darcy); nine grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ertibio and Maria Di Cesare; siblings Gloria, Ralph and Joanne; and grandson Nicholas.

There will be a time of visitation on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 from 2:00 until 4:00 and 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Avenue SE, Kentwood, MI 49508. A Praying of the Rosary will be read by the Knights of Columbus at 4:00 p.m. and a prayer vigil will be offered during visitation at 7:00 p.m.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Msgr. Bill Duncan at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 29, 2021 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 9408 Wilson Avenue SW, Byron Center, MI. There will also be a one hour visitation prior to Mass.

Phil will be laid to rest in Resurrection Cemetery, Wyoming, MI where, under the auspices of the United States Army and the Kent County Veteran's Honor Guard Service Details. Visitation
