Peter Semashko Jr., 64, of Wyoming MI, passed away on January 12th 2019. In lieu of a traditional funeral service, a memorial and celebration of Peter's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2019, at Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508. There will be a one-hour visitation prior to the service. Peter was born at Ramey Airforce Base in Aguadilla Puerto Rico on July 26th 1954. He grew up in Gladstone MI before moving with his family to Grand Rapids in 1964. He graduated from Grand Rapids Catholic Central High School where he met his soulmate and future wife, Lori Anderson. Peter was married to Lori on May 07, 1976, they were married 42 years. Peter worked for General Motors at the Grand Rapids Metal Fabrication plant for 26 years in a variety of capacities, starting his career as an apprentice diemaker, and holding positions as an hourly supervisor and process engineer before the plant closed in 2009. After General Motors, Peter worked as a project manager at Cameron Tool and Die in Lansing MI before taking an assignment as a process engineer at Middleville Tool and Die where he had worked for the last three years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing men's league hockey, and watching the Detroit Redwings. Peter is survived by his beloved wife Lori Semashko, his sons Joshua Semashko and Aaron Semashko, his daughter-in-law Soniqua Semashko who was like his own, his precious granddaughter Mischa Semashko, his brother Richard Semashko, his sisters Frances (and Michael) Hollern and Deborah (and Thomas) Greenhoe, his brother in law Timothy (and June) Anderson, many nieces and nephews and countless coworkers and friends. Peter is preceded in death by his mother Aida Gladys Semashko, his father Peter Semashko Sr. and his father and mother-in-law Donald and Lorena Anderson. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Alzheimer's Association. The Semashko family wishes to thank everyone for their kind thoughts and prayers.
