February 27, 1931 – January 16, 2022
Paul A. Smith "Doc" was born on Feb. 27th 1931 to Anton & Hartsel Smith. Paul attended and graduated from Hopkins School. On April 25th 1950 he enlisted in the Army and served in the Korean war. Paul was awarded
several medals including the Purple Heart. Upon leaving the military Paul went to work in the oil fields where he spent his entire adult life working.
Paul enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, all sports, reading and jig-saw puzzles.
Paul passed away at his home on January 16th 2022. He is survived by his children Deborah (Steven) Boerner, Catherine (Joseph) Noordyke, Paula Knowlton, Rebecca Gray, Anton Smith, Brian (Karen) Smith and Paul Smith II. He is also survived by sisters Alice Davis and Anna Mae Dolloff and brother Richard Smith. Paul leaves behind 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
Paul was preceded in death by granddaughter Jennifer Miller, brothers Leo Smith and Leonard Smith and sister Betty Findley.
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be held at the Wayland VFW Post # 7581 on February 19th 2022 from noon to 4:00pm a luncheon will be served.
