Paul Brent
Mannes
December 11, 1952 – May 29, 2026
Paul B. Mannes, 73, of Grandville, Michigan, formerly of Holland and Saugatuck, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 29, 2026.
Born December 11, 1952, in Zeeland, Michigan, he was the youngest of L.J. and Susan Mannes’ five children. Paul spent most of his life in Holland, where he became known as a hardworking craftsman. For more than 30 years, he owned and operated a concrete business, taking pride in creating beautiful outdoor spaces. He enjoyed renovating, building, and adding his own touch to every project.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Amy (Eric) Beckman, of Saugatuck; his son, P. Ben Mannes (Jeff), of Yucca Valley, California; his grandsons, Samuel P. Beckman, of Detroit, and Thomas J. Beckman, of Saugatuck; his former spouse, Debra Baas; his sisters-in-law, Nina Mannes and Jo Mannes; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Ken Mannes, Lee Mannes, and Larry Mannes; and his sister, Pearl Harter.
Paul will be remembered for his strong work ethic, creative eye, his “spicy” spirit and many friendships made along the way. He enjoyed golfing, boating and traveling. His legacy lives on through the projects he completed and the memories shared by those who knew and loved him.
A private memorial service for immediate family will be held at a later date.
