Paul "Bud" Kolenko, Jr. of Middleville, Michigan, age 59, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 11, 2019. Bud was born to Paul Kolenko, Sr. and Phyllis Williamson (Brotherton) on Thursday, May 26, 1960. Bud was raised in St. Joseph, Michigan until his family moved to Portage, Michigan in 1977. He was a graduate of Portage Northern High School class of 1978. At the time of his death he and his wife Kathleen A. Kolenko (Kiefer) had shared their lives together for 42 years. Raising two amazing daughters; Alexandra "Allie" Ray Kolenko-Shuck and Margaret "Maggie" Kathryn Kolenko. He is preceded in death by his father Paul Kolenko, Sr.; his mother Phyllis Brotherton; and brother Michael Kolenko. Bud spent the majority of his adult life as a Residential Home Builder and Fine Finish Carpenter. After many years of working for Custom Home Builders, he ventured out on his own and started Kolenko Construction, LLC. in 2007. He was a highly successful, respected and skilled craftsman with an excellent eye for detail. Bud was a humble man with a passion for God, Family and Country. He was an amazing self-taught musician, playing both acoustic and electric guitar since the age of 12. He enjoyed playing for pleasure as well as worship. Bud played in worship bands for both Kalamazoo Community Church and Gun Lake Community Church for many years. Bud is survived by his wife of 32 years Kathleen; daughter Alexandra Shuck and son-in law Bradley James "BJ" Shuck, parents of grandsons Mackson Bradley Shuck (4) and Kaden Paul Shuck (2); daughter Margaret Kolenko and partner Robert Vohn, parents of grandson Beau Bernard Vohn (2) and granddaughter Aaliyah Lynn Vohn (8); sister Sandy Landry and brother-in-law Kip Landry; brother Marc Kolenko; as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews, cousins and siblings-in-law. A celebration of Bud's life will take place Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Gun Lake Community Church, 12200 W. M-179 Hwy, Wayland, MI 49348. Visitation will be held from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. The service will begin at 1:00 p.m. followed by a luncheon.
