Paul Wesley Heystek, 73, of Byron Center, Michigan passed away on February 5th, 2022 after a long illness.
He was born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan, served in the US Army Reserves for six years and retired from AT&T (formerly Michigan Bell) after more than 30 years.
Paul loved to travel and cruise and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Living on Gun Lake for many years, he knew all the best spots to catch the big ones. He and Jan spent the last 14 winters at Summerhouse Condominiums at Crescent Beach in Florida where he loved to surf fish with his friend Rick.
He is survived by his wife, Janet (Kay); son, Richard and step-children, David (Jennifer), Brian (Mindy), Christopher (Shelley) and Katrina (Mark) Anderson. Also left to miss their "Lake Grandpa" and Belgian waffle maker are his 11 beloved grandchildren.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Thelma (Buck) Heystek and brother, James.
His wishes were to be cremated. A private graveside service honoring Paul and his new life in Heaven will be held in the Spring at Grandville Cemetery in Grandville, Michigan. Service Details.
