Paul Edward Pomeroy, 82, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away on December 5, 2017. Paul was born in Ludington, Michigan on Feb. 21, 1935. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Gertrude Wincheski, his wife Phyllis, his son Todd Rochon, his twin brother John Pomeroy, and his sisters Joan Nelsen and Jane Wotaszak. Paul is survived by his children: Randall J. Rochon, Daniel J. Rochon, Sharon (Bruce) Kelly, Christopher Pomeroy, and James (Nancy) Pomeroy; his grandchildren: Ben, Anna and Sarah Kelly; brother Tom (Debbie) Wincheski; many nieces, nephews, brothers-in law and sisters-in law; and his dog Rocky 2. Paul loved his family and was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid golfer and loved to hunt. He worked for AT&T/Bell Telephone for 37 years. He served in the US Army and faithfully said the Rosary every day. Visitation for Paul will be at Ofield Funeral Home (4500 Kalamazoo Ave. in Kentwood) on Friday, December 8, 5:30-8:00 PM with the Rosary Service at 7:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, December 9 at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church (1935 Plymouth Ave. in Grand Rapids). Burial will be in the Spring at Pere Marquette Cemetery in Ludington, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM) for masses in memory of Paul and Phyllis Pomeroy or the American Cancer Society.
