Patsy Ann Westra (Carroll), 62, of Byron Center, Michigan, passed away on December 18, 2023, from pancreatic cancer while at Trillium Woods – Faith Hospice in Byron Center, MI, where she received beautiful care in the last few weeks of her life. She was born on May 14, 1961, in Houston, Texas.

Patsy is survived by her beloved and loving husband of 17 years, Mike Westra and her siblings Steve, Barb, and Bruce. Patsy was preceded in death by her brother Jimmy.

Patsy worked hard and always served others well - anticipating needs of people before they even shared them. She loved her student "children" at Calvin College where she served for 25+ years with Creative Dining. Her family is proud of Patsy's legacy and all the lives she touched while at Calvin College.

Patsy loved her home and simple things like coffee with a friend, her annual trip to Hastings, and pictures of her grandchild, Wesley.

Besides reading, Patsy might have been found watching Jeopardy, watching PBS, or listening to NPR, working a crossword puzzle, walking outside, or observing critters from afar.

Patsy was full of jokes and sarcasm, even in the last few weeks of her life. Her phrases always brought on a smile.

Patsy died too early and will be missed dearly by her friends and family.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00AM on January 27th with lunch to follow at Madison Square Church on 1441 Madison Ave SE Grand Rapids, MI.
