Patrick Howard James Smith, 87 passed away at home on Monday, August 7 in Wyoming, Michigan. He has finished his race well! He was born on February 12, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois to Leo and LaVina (Randall) Smith. He was the first graduation class of Lewis University in Lockport, Illinois in 1948. He enter the Marine Corps afterwards and served overseas in Korea. He married Phyllis Ann Kettner of Washington DC in 1952. He is survived by two children, Michael Smith & Laurie (Gary) Mayhanagian, 6 awesome grandchildren, Raquel (Jon) Goossens, Jonathan, Gabrielle (Steve) Kik, Mykala (Ryan) Snyder, Quinton, Kasey, 4 great grandchildren, Braxton, Bradley, Nova, & Zoe, 1 sister Marilyn Pugliese of Ventura, California, and many faithful friends. A time of gathering will be held at Ofield Funeral Home in Grand Rapids, Michigan on Monday August 28, 2017 from 4-7. He will be laid to rest at Fort Custer Cemetery in Battle Creek.
