Pamela Jean Dykhuizen, age 79, of Lowell, MI, passed quietly on Friday, December 12, 2025. She was born Pamela Jean Schmidt to Albert Alfred and Elaine Selma (née Diepholz) Schmidt on August 18, 1946 in Minneapolis, MN, the eldest of three . She graduated from Forest Hills High School, MI, in 1964. After attending Valparaiso University for a short time, she graduated from the University of Michigan in 1968 with a degree in dental hygiene.

Pam lived in Princeton Junction, New Jersey for many years, raising her children there. She completed a Bachelors of Science degree in Chemistry from Trenton State College (now The College of New Jersey) in 1984, and worked in quality assurance/quality control for Integra LifeSciences of Plainsboro. She was an active community member, leading a Girl Scout troop and youth activities at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.

Pam returned to Michigan upon her marriage to Lyle "Butch" Dykhuizen on November 26, 2005. She was an active elder at Cascade Christian Church, served on several boards, and participated in service work through DeColores and the Keryx prison ministry organizations. A regular knitter and quilter, she donated her time making blankets for those in need and created period products for Days for Girls. She also loved gardening, baking, traveling near and far, and was always available to lend a hand.

Pam is survived by her beloved husband of twenty years; her two biological children, Aaron Teske (Chrisdina Gu) and Elizabeth Teske (David Snodgress); and her step-son Joseph Dykhuizen (Breanna Dykhuizen). She found joy every day in her grandchildren, Liam (Beth), Gwendolyn (Aaron), and Gregory (Aaron). She is also survived by her brothers Gary (and his wife Lin) and Paul (and his wife, Bernie, with children Matthew and Hannah) and is celebrated by a loving extended family and widespread group of friends.

The memorial service for Pam will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Cascade Christian Church, 2928 Thornapple River Dr. SE, Grand Rapids, MI, 49546, with visitation in the hour preceding.
