May 10, 2014 Gutiérrez - Olaf Gutiérrez aged 79, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, May 10, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Julio Gutiérrez, Paula Gutiérrez, Horaci0 Gutiérrez, Amelia Villarreal, Oralia Flores and Cleofas García. Olaf is survived by his wife, Emma of 51 years; sons, Rudy (Kelly) Gutiérrez, Roberto Gutiérrez; daughter, Marisa Gutiérrez; grandchildren, Lauren, Emma, Alexis, Matthew, Gabby; brother, Oswaldo (Josefina) Gutiérrez and many nieces and nephews. Olaf was a strong, hardworking man with quiet dignity, with deep love and affection for his family. It was a joy for him to pick up his grandchildren from school every day. A true west sider Olaf enjoyed riding his bike around the neighborhood, working in his yard and was always ready to lend a helping hand to his neighbors. He retired from General Motors after 25 years of service. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Ave. SE. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to Faith Hospice in Olaf's memory.
