Handlogten, Norma May 10/1/1935 - 6/8/2021 of Allegan, Michigan

was born at home in Allegan County, Cheshire Township on October 1, 1935. She passed away in Allegan County on June 8, 2021. She was preceded in death by her Father, Walter Shafer, Mother, Elsie Shafer, and Sister Betty. She is survived by her husband Morris Handlogten, Daughter Deborah Dufour, Son Roger Handlogten, Seven Grandchildren: Joshua, Ashley, Zachary, Kyle, Alison, Ben, & Garrett, and Twelve Great-Grandchildren: Violet, Andrew, Avalyn, Juniper, Isla, Cooper, Kamden, Tristan, Piper, Jameson, Charlotte, & Diego & her Sister Linda.

Norma was a secretary when she met Morris on a blind date in Grand Rapids. They were married for 65 years and resided in Caledonia, Jenison, and their favorite home - Miner Lake in Allegan for over 50 years. They were also snow birds in Florida for many years where they enjoyed Disney, Flea Markets, traveling, and their family visiting them there. Norma loved her family, Miner Lake, gardening, canning, cooking, traveling, reading People Magazine and novels.

Her family was able to spend time with her to send her in prayer and love. She will be missed by her family and all who knew her as family, friend, and neighbor.
