Norma Jean Balogh, 63, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025, in Grand Haven, after a courageous battle with dementia. She was born on June 30, 1961, to Melvin and Leone (Blackburn) Johnson of Montague.

Norma is survived by her loving family, including her son Jarid (Devon) Shunk; daughter Krystal (Eric) Braginton; beloved niece Amber Balogh; and treasured grandchildren Logan, Kendall, Elliott, Rex, and Brian. She is also survived by her brothers Terry (Sue Ellen) Johnson and Scott Johnson, as well as her sister Judy Sabec.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents Melvin and Leone (Blackburn) Johnson, her brother Bruce Johnson, her sisters Diane Misze and Shelly Canniff, and her beloved nephew Trevor Sabec.

Family was once the center of Norma's world, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. She had a deep appreciation for life's simple joys, enjoying the beach, camping with family, and making candies for arts and crafts shows. These everyday pleasures brought her peace and fulfillment.

Norma's strength, resilience, and free spirit will continue to inspire her family and friends for years to come. While she is now at peace, her spirit will live on in the cherished memories she leaves behind and the family she created.

A private service to honor Norma's life will be held on June 30th, in observance of her birthday.

Norma Jean Balogh's legacy of love, warmth, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
