Nickolas Baas Roelofs, born May 11, 1945, passed away February 6, 2016 at Blodgett Hospital. Nick was born in Grand Rapids, where he lived most of his life. He resided, before death, in Morley, MI. Nick served proudly in the U.S. Coast Guard until March 1967. He is preceded in death by his wives, Alice and Diane, son,Timothy, and granddaughters Nicole and Tiffany Roelofs. Surviving Nick are his sons, Donald VanKampen, Nick Jr., Benjimin, Nikia Roelofs, and daughter, April VanKampen, several grand and great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, cousins and in-laws. Nick was a great man who was loved by his family and friends. He loved them in return just as much, maybe even more. He will be deeply missed by all of us. The family is planning a memorial service from 1-4 PM on Feb. 20, 2016, at the American Legion Hall, Post 554, 2560 Northland Drive, Morley, MI. The Honor Guard will start at 1:00 PM and lunch will follow.
