Nell Hill went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 7th, 2022 at the age of 86. She was born on August 17th, 1935 to J. Crawford and Marie Davies in Ashland, Kentucky. Nell graduated from Paul Blazer High School and married Bill on November 21st, 1953. Nell and Bill later moved to West Michigan where they raised their two children, Donna and Jim. They lived in Michigan for several years before retiring to Florida where they were dedicated members of Redemption Christian Church of Inverness. They celebrated 65 years of marriage before his death in 2019.

Nell was an avid reader who also enjoyed crochet and playing bingo, dominoes and card games with her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was affectionately known as "Grammy" to so many more than just her grandchildren since she embraced everyone she met as if they were her own. She was a natural caregiver for her entire life, always knowing what was needed and providing it. We were blessed by her signature pizzas, her fierce protection of the ones she loved, her knack for changing the names of well known things to something entirely new (having no idea she had changed it) and her stories. She was endlessly proud of her family, so much so that she often started conversations with strangers and they left knowing something about each of us and that somehow they were a part of our family now too.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughter, Donna Berends; grandchildren, Benjamin Hess, Brooke (Joshua) Hoekstra, Stacie (Brian) Bode, Katelyn Berends (Blake Diephouse); great grandson, Brayden Bode; several nieces and nephews and many other loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J. Crawford and Marie Davies; her father and mother-in-law, J.I. and Grace Hill; husband, William Hill; her son and daughter-in-law, James and Jane Hill; sister, Edna Lew Mansfield and son-in-law, John Berends.
