Rhoades - Nancy Katherine (Donnelly) Rhoades, January 24, 1926 - January 24, 2018. In keeping with Nancy's love of celebrations, she died peacefully on her 92nd birthday, surrounded by her loving children. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, Nancy was a remarkable woman of integrity, strength, and humility. Nancy enjoyed bridge, golf, the garden club, crafting, and tutoring, but was especially known as a gracious hostess. Nancy graduated from Mundelein College in Chicago, IL. She was a gifted math teacher at Godwin Schools where she met the love of her life, fellow teacher Bill Rhoades. She received her Masters (from the University of Michigan) and her Mrs. on the same day when she and Bill married in 1952. They were married for 52 years. Nancy worked 18 years at the law firm of Mika Meyers. She was a charter member of Immaculate Heart of Mary parish. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Rhoades; and brothers, Jim and Jack Donnelly. She is survived by her 6 children, their spouses, 19 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren: Kathy (Jamie) Hogg - John (Stephanie), Rob, & Betsy; Sue (Phil) Devendorf - Brad, Stacey (Noah) & Cole Bailey; Mary (Steve) Haines - Ted, Emilynn, Marty (Anna) & Collette Henderson; Nancy (Bill) Skilling - Ryan (Heidi) & Kaitlyn, Audrey, William, & George; Ross (Lindsey) & Nyal, Tess, & Grace; Kelsey (Kyle) Ramsey, Mallory, Scott (fiancé Samantha), & Zac; Bob (Kay) Rhoades - Keaton & McKenna; Peggy (Tim) Hogan - Riley, Abby, & Liam. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, January 29 at Immaculate Heart of Mary at 11 AM with visitation from 10 - 11 AM.
