Obituary

Nancy J Pikaart age 73 of Caledonia Michigan, passed away peacefully on Sunday August 9, 2020. She was born to William and Mildred Page on April 8, 1947 in Minneapolis, MN.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and sister Elizabeth Page. She will be greatly missed by her loving husband David Pikaart, four children Korey Hofmann, Karl (Lori) Hofmann, Jill (Mike) Gorkowski, Mark (Ashley) Pikaart and five grandchildren Audrey, Sydney, Mina, Edward and Matilda. She is also survived by her two brothers Tom (Joanne) Page and Dick (Chris) Page, many nieces and nephews and extended family.

If you asked her, Nancy would say her greatest accomplishment was being a mom. She was an amazing mom and so much more. Nancy was a gifted writer with a love for words and books, which served her well during her tenure as a middle school librarian for Caledonia Public Schools. She was a deep thinker with a creative mind who took pleasure in constantly learning and growing. If Nancy was going to create something, she would take the time and make sure it was beautiful and elegant, like her handwriting. She was passionate about doing good in this world and making a difference, hoping to do more until her end. Nancy's ability to see the big picture and truly listen to people made her a very dear friend to many. She always found beauty and comfort in nature and adored her life on the farm for many years. Our hope is that when you read an amazing book or poem, gaze at the stars, delight in birds visiting a feeder, linger to enjoy a cup of morning coffee or sit on the beach and listen to the waves, you will think of her and take joy in these simple moments as she surely would have.

At this time we will not be having a formal memorial service and are encouraging people to please share your favorite memory or story about Nancy below. We are looking forward to reading and compiling them for future celebration.

We cannot thank Spectrum Health Hospice enough for the wonderful care over the last month, especially from our nurse Debbie and social worker Megan. We ask that you consider a donation to Spectrum Health Hospice in Nancy's memory if you are interested.
