IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nancy Mae
Jenkerson
June 30, 1935 – December 14, 2023
June 30, 1935 to December 14, 2023, age 88
Zeeland MI—born in Crawfordsville IN to James & Cora Robinson
Nancy was predeceased by her parents, three brothers (Jim, Bill & David), her daughter Virginia Sutton, son Gary Sutton and son-in-law, Roger Sagmoe. She is survived by her daughter, Janie Sagmoe; six grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Her greats lovingly called her "Grandma-Nan".
She wore many hats over the years. Mother & Friend was her biggest well-worn hat. She was a fantastic artist…excellent with drawing, oil painting and was an award-winning watercolor artist… loved photography and the beauty in nature (both her mother & father encouraged her interest in art early on by enrolling her in summer art classes). She became a military wife (US Air Force & later US Navy) and served as USN Ombudswoman, was an excellent seamstress, Pastor's wife, Deaconess, Missionary to refugees in Austria and later resettling immigrants in the USA. She sang in church choirs and liked playing the piano.
Her first marriage to Arland Sutton ended in 1964-1965. In 1973, she married John Jenkerson and the Caudill, Sutton & Jenkerson families combined… bringing the number of teens & pre-teens in the home to five. Everyone survived those remaining "growing" years, but the Corelle dishes did not.
She loved the Lord with all her heart, mind & strength and lived the Great Commission as set forth in God's Holy Scriptures. She's always had a special love of prophecy in the Bible and current events and how they fit in with the end of this age. She was anxiously awaiting the time when she'd be in heaven with our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ—she had no fear of death—and was ready & willing (with great excitement) to go whether it be thru the rapture or death.
Nancy & John were married for 50 years and died within 18 hours of each other.
With that in mind, our family memorial was focused on celebrating her and John's lives and where they are now—in the PRESENCE of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords—JESUS!
The family would like to thank Theresa Lozano, Shiree Boerema and Hospice of Holland (MI) for their care and compassion during Nancy's illness.
Those wishing to offer expressions of sympathy are encouraged to make a memorial contribution to Bible Broadcasting Network https://bbn1.bbnradio.org/english/ and/or Jerusalem Prayer Team https://www.jerusalemprayerteam.org/.
