Obituary

Mona Ruth Randal, aged 90, was born in Marceline, Missouri and passed away April 3, 2020 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Mona was preceded in death by her parents, Sterling Addison and Laura Doris (Reigel) Hise, brother Donald Eugene Hise, granddaughter, Miranda Ruth Hale and great-grandson, Cody Steven Kimball. Mona graduated from Marceline High School and attended the University of Missouri in Columbia where she studied Social Work.

Mona is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Charles Max Randal, who was the love of her life and her three daughters, Debra Dee (David) Kimball of Cedar Springs, MI, Cheryl Lynn (Michael) Hoogerhyde of East Grand Rapids, MI, and Carol Ann Hale of Mequon, WI. Grandchildren, Ryan David (Kara) Kimball of Allendale, MI, Julie Marie (Kimball) and Daniel Godfrey of Cedar Springs, MI, Steven Randal (Amanda) Kimball of Kapolei, HI; Charles Rockwell Drummond of Kentwood, MI, Jessica Lynn Hoogerhyde (Jeremy Eberts) of Grand Rapids, MI, Carol Ruth Ann Hoogerhyde (Christopher Beardsley) of Grand Rapids, MI; Gregory Randal Hale (Chelsey Addie) of Green Bay, WI, Andrea Rose (Hale) and Jacob Klipp of Mequon, WI, Donald Jacob Hale of Madison, WI; 9 great-grandchildren, nephew William Charles Randal of Spokane, WA and niece Judy (Randal) Davis of Bend, OR.

Mona was a beautiful woman and a wonderful wife and mother who was beloved by her family, neighbors, and co-workers at Meijer where she worked as an administrative secretary for more than 20 years. Mona enjoyed socializing and she was an excellent cook - everyone always enjoyed good food when they came to visit, including hand-made crescent rolls and fried chicken that would make the Kentucky Colonel envious. Her heart and home always had an open door and welcomed friends, family and neighbors with a smile that could light up a room. We all carry her love and memory in our hearts.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice. The family expresses their gratitude to Brookcrest Nursing Home and Emmanuel Hospice for their care during the past year.

A memorial gathering will be held at a later date with interment at Chapel Hill Cemetery (Masonic Section), Grand Rapids, Michigan.
