Michele S. Bement, age 74, of Caledonia, MI, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on the 6th of June, 2023. She was born the youngest of seven children to Edwin and Verba Douse.

Michele was born in Ann Arbor and raised in Lowell, Michigan where she graduated from Lowell High School.  She was very loyal, driven, dedicated, independent and incredibly hard-working both in her personal life where she was unwaveringly committed to caring for her stepson, Pat, was always willing to lend a helping hand to her friends and family, and in her thirty-year career at General Motors. It was at General Motors that she met her beloved husband of over thirty years, Ed Bement. In retirement, Michele enjoyed weekly shopping dates with her sister, Crickett, who is lovingly referred to as her "twin", baking and game nights with her grandchildren who absolutely adored her and she adored as well, and her quiet mornings spent enjoying her coffee on the back deck while admiring all of the birds, deer and other wildlife found in the beautiful woods and creek surrounding her home. Michele had a huge heart for animals. Over the years Michele and her husband adopted many dogs and cats that were cared for and loved beyond measure.

Michele was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Darlene Drewyour and Jackie Mockerman. Surviving family includes: her husband, William Edward Bement; her sisters, Christina (Wayne King) Braun, Sandy (Dave) Caswell, and Crickett Sweet; her brother, Ross Douse; her children, Kassie (Dart) Foy and Patrick Bement; and her four grandchildren, Madalyn, Kaili, Alizabeth and Liam Foy. The family would like to thank Michele's many friends and family members, including her niece, Cheryl (Barney) Koster and dear friends and neighbors, Jerry and Judy LaValley, for their care, support and love.

At Michele's request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Instead, immediate family will celebrate her life privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to an animal rescue of your choice.
