Michael E. P. Faris, 72, surrounded by his family, left his earthly home and was ushered into the presence of God February 1, 2022. He was born November 15, 1949, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, the son of Edmund and Joyce Faris. On August 30, 1971 he married the love of his life Elizabeth Faris. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in August.

Michael at the age of twelve submitted his life to God, later attending and graduated from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. During his life he served faithfully as a Pastor from 1976 - 2016. His passion was to show the love and grace of God. Through Pastor Mike, God transformed the lives of many through his biblical preaching, young preachers club, youth bike trips, biblical pre-marriage counseling, big bear hugs and his signature "Faris smile".

Predeceased by his beloved parents Edmund and Joyce Faris.

He is survived by his treasured wife Elizabeth Faris, Daughter Tammy Derks, grandsons Micah and Nathan; Son Timothy Faris, his wife Ruth, grandsons Bryce and Preston; Daughter Rebecca Alkema, her husband Jeffrey, granddaughters Ema, Jacelyn, Lillian and Laurelye; Son David Faris, his wife Laura, grandchildren Grace Hlebinsky, Moses, Samuel, Josiah, and Hope; Son Jonathan Faris, his wife Nicole, grandchildren Asher, Isla, Jax and Priscilla; Sisters Pat House and Tara MacTavish.

A Celebration service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, February 11 at Heritage Baptist Church, 1570 60th St SE Kentwood, MI 49508. Those who may wish to remember Pastor Mike in a special way may make gifts in his memory to Elizabeth Faris. Arrangements can be sent to Heritage Baptist Church. Service Details.
